Grandpa Joe’s Woodstove & Lawnmower Shop started it all in 1970. He and Grandma opened up Joe’s at the corner of 24th and 152nd Street, just a couple blocks from where Gasland stands today. Joe’s daughter Dorothy managed woodstove sales. His granddaughter Kim was known as the “Chainsaw Queen.” The family opened Gasland at its current location in October 1982, in a vintage building that used to be Sunnyside Dry Goods.

Today this humble mom and pop shop is packed with industry knowledge and experience. Kim and John  own and operate the store. In addition to family, Gasland has an extended support team that has been handpicked to represent the very best our industry has to offer. Our installers and customer service team work together to provide a seamless experience for our customers. We encourage you to check out our  testimonials on our website, as well as measure us up to other companies you may be considering on the BBB and Homestars websites. We are proud to have been voted by our customers as the Best Fireplace Store and Best Barbeque Store in Surrey and White Rock in 2012 and in many previous years by the Now Newspaper’s Reader’s Poll.

We are highly selective with regards to the integrity of the products we choose to retail, and the reputation of the manufacturers that we represent. We carry products that we believe in and use at home ourselves, backed by companies that we can depend on for support. We have formed strong alliances with Canadian companies such as Valor and Marquis gas fireplaces, as well as Napoleon and Broil King grills.

At Gasland, we are driven by the desire to impress our customers. We are so thankful for all of the recommendations you have given us throughout the years! Our business has been built on your trust.

As of Nov 2013, we have retired from the lawn and garden industry.   We are taking this opportunity to expand our product lines in barbeques and fireplaces, including outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and electric fireplaces.  We invite you to come and experience the personal service and integrity that Gasland has to offer.
